July 12th Traverse City Fishing Report
Fishing in Grand Traverse Bay this week has been very good. The high winds have not caused any problems with finding fish, causing currents, or moving warm or cold water around. The fish seem to be in a stable and predictable pattern. We are finding and catching both Lake Trout and Salmon on our trips. We went out and caught limits of Lake Trout and set up the King Salmon spread later and caught a couple within our time limit. We are catching 8-12 fish a trip and they are hard fighting and good table fare. The Hammerhead #5 Lake Trout Killer cowbells with the Dreamweaver Green/glow Whirly Gig has been the best Lake Trout bait with the Hammerhead #5 Silver bells with the same Whirly Gig a close second. The same are biting on the spoons. Glow baits seem to be working. We had bites on Beavers Lures Alien Breath and Blue Moon magnum spoons set on cooper rigs 250-300. The 10-color lead core works for both Lake Trout and King Salmon. The Dreamweaver Super Slim Rasta Goose has caught several fish this week. Fishing is good and the King Salmon fishing is only going to get better in Grand Traverse Bay. We have openings in July and August. Fishing is Fun! Give us a call and let’s go have some Fun!
