The Traverse City 2026 fishing season has started with great fishing all around Grand Traverse and Leelanau counties. The lake Trout fishing has been phenomenal in West Grand Traverse Bay. The fish have been plentiful and hard fighting. We have been using Hammerhead cowbells, mostly silver or the silver and green, with a spin-n-glo behind it on the downrigger set up. The diver set has been a flasher and with a fly or spin-n-glo behind it. We have also used planner boards to get a wider spread using 4-8 color lead core line with small bright colored spoons.
I expect the fishing from Traverse City in Grand Traverse Bay to get better as the Summer continues. We have availability and would love to take you and your crew fishing.
