So as May turns into June, Fishing continues to be good. We are able to get mixed bags of fish, Lake Trout and King salmon, consistently on our fishing trips. We have been using a multi species set up: on the downriggers -were using flasher and flies along with spoons, on the deep dip diver rods-were using spoons and or flasher or and meat rigs, on our high divers-were using mostly spoons, and then on our planer boards-both copper and lead core lines, spoons as well. We were getting most fish on standard spoons last week. This week it didn’t seem to matter if the spoons were magnum or standard. Glow spoons worked good this week. Non -glow spoons were OK. We did take a couple fish on the meat rig.
The surface temperature cooled off a couple degrees. With the warm south wind forecasted we expect the water temperature to increase. We were able to get fish around both North and South Manitou Islands as well as near shore of Leland.

The Lake Trout and Cisco fishing continues to be good in Grand Traverse Bay. The Lake Trout seem to have moved on to the shallow banks and are feeding on the gobies. They are also just off the breaks feeding on alewives. Ciscos have been caught casting spoons near the breaks and retrieving over the drop offs. All in all, fishing is good and we expect it to get better as Spring turns to Summer. Please contact us to schedule your adventure.
