Now that 2025 has started and we’re looking forward to our spring fishing adventures and excursions, we should be excited to know that it looks like it’s going to be a very good 2025 fishing season.
The initial reports from MDNR Fisheries fall of 2024 surveys show there is good to strong bait fish populations, and good to strong predator populations: Kings, Lake Trout, Coho and Steelhead that we like to target. This winter has been more of a typical winter meaning that the temperatures are colder and it looks like it’s going to last a little bit longer. This winter started a little sooner than winter 2023-24. Therefore, our spring fishery for our early spring brown trout and steelhead as well as our mid-spring Lake trout fishery should be pretty good. We look forward to getting out there as soon as the launch ramps and the edges of lake are removed from ice and snow. We will get out there and start checking out rock piles and flats for signs of fish and seeing what what’s going on in the lake.
Now is always a great time to start looking at your schedules and getting ready to book an adventure of a lifetime. We look forward to taking you and your crew out and having as much fun as we possibly can exploring the waters of West Grand Traverse Bay and the Manitou Passage in and around the Manitou Islands.
