Chris is a native to Traverse City area. Chris grew up in Traverse City  fishing the Grand Traverse Bays, Lake Michigan and inland lakes since he was youngster.  Chris is a retired deputy sheriff serving Grand Traverse County for 28 years. Chris now dedicates his time to fishing and helping people enjoy fishing in  Traverse City!  Chris started fishing with his two sons 15 years ago and  Chris’s favorite part is the family fun fishing brings him while teaching young fishermen ladies how to catch fish and developing the skills for a lifetime of good fishing.

 

Your Traverse City Fishing Trip Details

When fishing from Traverse City, you will board the LEELANAUTICAL at the Elmwood Township Marina and Park:

13051 South West Bay Shore Dr
Traverse City, MI 49684 (directly across from the Speedway gas station).
Please park near the launch ramp and Captains will give you a parking permit.

When you return from fishing, your Captain will clean your fish and if you would like to have your fish prepared for you visit Harrington’s by the Bay restaurant less than a mile from the harbor.

Our 27′ Tiara fishing boat, the Leelanautical, is made for fishing on Lake Michigan. We will provide all of the gear & bait. Grand Traverse Bay has excellent fishing all year long starting in late April through the end of the season for Lake Trout, Cisco and Steelhead. The Salmon fishing in the Grand Traverse Bays picks up in Mid-July and lasts until mid- October most years. These Salmon seem to bite best in the early hours, so wake up earlier and be ready for to fight the fish of a lifetime. It does not take long to get to the fishing grounds in Grand Traverse Bay, the Chinook or King Salmon is stocked in the Boardman River. To which the four-year-old adults return to spawn on the next generation of reel screaming drag smoking electric angling for all who venture out.
